The Pacific collides with the coast of Batanes. A scene made more dramatic by the late afternoon light.

love the way the ocean bashing into the rocks + photography makes it seem like a million crystal shards rising up . gorgeous picture .

Great shot... when you say you used a CPL are you meaning a polariser. I have seen this addreviation a few time on peoples post. I assuming it is this.

:iconjaydigital:
yes it is. CPL - circular polarizing filter. :)

Thought so... just making sure. Each site has it's own abbreviations.

Looking through your gallery i wonder how many times you’ve been soaked by the waves?

:iconjaydigital:
far too many i must say. my camera has rusting parts already hahaha. but it's a tough one...it's still working fine after 2 and a half years!

i've been getting better at observing the waves now and i try not to risk my safety as much.

Lovely finish on this image! Great composition and light too.

Don't suppose you would fancy sharing your post-processing workflow for this one?

this was shot with an ND8 and a CPL with a 3-stop grad. the RAW file was converted via lightroom. white balance was somewhere around 6000K. in CS3, just boosted the colors in LAB mode and did additional exposure corrections with gradient blends. resized and then sharpened for web :)
