Once in while, after so many thousands of images taken, I come across something really special. Galen Rowell has always been my personal hero as a landscape photographer. To be able to capture something so closely akin to his philosophy of great light and dynamic landscapes is something I subconsciously aspire to do in my own photography.
The sun was already well above the horizon and it was getting bright, sunny, and hot over Dalugan, Casiguran, Aurora. I had returned to this stream I found the evening before, trying to see if I can find a good sky to complement it. Low and behold, this giant thundercloud occluded the sun and an elemental glow erupted up in the mesosphere. Here was a dynamic landscape happening...and I've found the perfect complement to my curving stream. Shooting it was straightforward and clear.
That is a quite unique beach! Awesome shot and exposure!
